Pada CES 2017, Google mengkonfirmasi bahwa Huawei Mate 9 Pro dan Mate 9 Porche Edition akan mendukung platform Daydream VR. Selain kedua flagship Huawei tersebut, Google kembali menyebutkan smartphone terbaru yang kompatibel dengan Daydream, yaitu Asus ZenFone AR dan ZTE Axon 7. Smartphone Daydream berikutnya juga akan segera hadir dari berbagai brand ternama, seperti Samsung, HTC, LG, Alcatel dan Mi.

Desain premium dengan layar lengkung dua sisi atau dual edge menjadikan harga Mate 9 Pro cukup tinggi. Walau merupakan versi murah dari Mate 9 Porche Edition, harga Mate 9 Pro dengan RAM 4GB di bandrol sekitar USD$685. Sedangkan Mate 9 Pro dengan RAM 6GB di banderol USD$775.
